I am currently the President of the Regina Coin Club (from 2004 to present) and hold memberships among many coin clubs and assocations around the world. On August 16, 2014 I was awarded a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (F.R.C.N.A.) at the RCNA national convention in Toronto. I am the 39th numismatist to have been presented with this prestigeous award. In July 2017, I was elected Saskatchewan representative to the RCNA.
I was also voted the Calgary Numismatic Society's Harry Wright Most Congenial Dealer Award in both March 2008, March 2016, and September 2018. My article, The Fenian Raids, was published in Coin News, the largest numismatic magazine in the United Kingdom. It was then reprinted in Medal Yearbook 2019 Deluxe Edition. I was a contributor to the Charlton Standard Catalogue Canadian Colonial Tokens 8th Edition. I was a contributor to the Charlton Standard Catalogue Canadian Coins 61st Edition. I have been on the pricing committee for the Charlton Standard Catalogue Canadian Coins. I have also presented classes on coins and paper money for both the University of Regina Centre for Continuing Education and the Regina Public Library Main Branch.
At the July 23, 2022 Royal Canadian Numismatic Assocation Annual Convention, I was awarded the Charles D. Moore Award for Professional Numismatics. Part of the Citation for the award reads: "The award each year is intended to honour the recipient who has consistently contributed to the advancement of Canadian Numismatics and the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association over a number of years. The recipient will have exhibited a willingness to advance the hobby through Dignity, Integrity, Truth and Knowledge, and shall be selected from those professional numismatists, full- or part-time dealers, researchers and writers, publicists, and benefactors, who are members of the RCNA."
My coin
collecting philosophy is to collect only coins that you will be happy
with. (Stay away from coins that are only graded Good as well as problem
coins - those that are bent, have scratches or rim dents). After careful
selection, I hand pick only high quality, accurately graded coins with
great eye appeal for my collection. I've passed up purchasing thousands
of coins because the quality wasn't good enough, or they had problems.
I suggest you do the same.
Most of
my coins for sale are selling at below market value. For Canadian
coins, prices are based on the most recent issue of Canadian Coin News
Trends.
Foreign coin prices are based on the latest Standard Catalog of World
Coins by Krause and Mishler. Canadian paper money prices are based
on the latest issue of the Charleton Government Paper Money Catalog.
World paper
money prices are based on the latest issues of the Standard Catalog
of World Paper Money, as well as Pick's Specialized Issues
catalog.
I started
collecting coins in 1960. As a boy, my father gave me some
of his extra Canadian small cents and nickels. Of course, he didn't give
me any of the key date coins, such as the 1926 Far 6 nickel or the 1921
silver 5 cents.
Now that
I'm a lot older, I've got so many coins I want to sell some of them. I've
got thousands of coins from all over the world. It doesn't matter what
you collect, I've probably got coins that you will want for your collection.
My web site
is constantly changing, so log-on regularly to see what I've added.
Enjoy.
